It is a well-known fact that if you want to know who has the power in an office, look at the office furniture. Are the executive chairs worn out, do the office chairs look broken down? Many people are geared to looking at appearances to determine the success of a company. It is only the age of the office furniture that matters, it is the brand name of the executive chairs that can be an indicator. A Vice President will have nicer office chairs than his administrative assistant.

If you look around the office at lower level people and they are sitting in expensive executive chairs, odds are that they are hand me downs. Look at the executive chairs, they are probably the newer model of an administrative assistant’s chair. And the office chairs used by the higher level people are newer, more expensive and in better taste than the folding chairs that surround the desks of the lowly office workers.

Now, the administrative assistant may be sitting in one of the executive chairs, but look at the age of the office furniture for a good clue about the amount that is spent on office chairs. By doing this, you can tell if a company buys quality that lasts, if they are interested in brand names or if they simply spend enough to get by.
